Swallow 2021-22

The adults in our class are Shianne, Zeheria, Ira & Zuzanna.

In Year 1, our topics this term have been Me, Myself and I and Toys & Games.

We started the year exploring and understanding a range of feelings and emotions we may be feeling at certain times. This allowed us to build a bank of strategies to cope,  not only for ourselves but for some of the characters in the stories we read, like Ravi's Roar and Perfectly Norman. We also took some photos of ourselves displaying different emotions and our body parts to make a collage.

We also wrote some fabulous recounts of the Pinocchio story from the beginning, all the way to the end. This took some time to write but we love to rewrite our work to make it even better! Check out the picture of our conscious alley to help Pinocchio decide on whether he should stay at The Land of Lost Toys or go home to his father Geppetto.

Us Swallows are marvelous when it comes to maths! We love number, especially now that we explore a range of ways to understand them using addition, subtraction, ordinal numbers and comparing numbers with the greater than, less than and equal to symbols.
