Pipit 2021.22

Class teacher: Euan Chymera-Holloway

Teaching assistant: Leanna Ollivierre-Langlais

This term our topics have been All at Sea and Where does my food come from?

We learnt all about the Viking invasions of Anglo-Saxon England, including designing, building and testing our own model Viking longships. We had a great time dressing up on immersion day - we decorated our own Viking shields, creating Vikings gods trading cards and even made our own (non-alcoholic!) mead! In English, we have been studying the brilliant Arthur and The Golden Rope and even had a go at writing our own Viking myths. In maths we focused on place value.

In the 'Where does my food come from?'  topic, we have learnt about how our food is produced all over the world and how it ends up on our plates. In science, we have learnt about the major food groups and how a balanced diet can keep us healthy. We have even had a go at making our own sauerkraut! In English we have been reading the beautiful Cloud Tea Monkeys and creating a character description of the Royal Tea Taster. In maths we have been making brilliant progress at column addition and subtraction.
