Recommended Reading for Parents

The Anxious Generation focuses on the difficulties children and adolescents face with too much screen time in their lives. It is well researched and although much of it relates to America, is very relevant to UK life. I have spoken to many parents who have read this, so if your children are asking for their own phone or are on screen more than you would like, this is a good place to start! Remember - Stoneydown is a smartphone free school.

As you know, we work closely with the Waltham Forest Mental Health Support Team, who are on site with us one day a week. All of their work is based on Helping Your Child With Fears and Worries. The book is aimed at parents of fearful children, but also has lots of useful advice about managing anxiety more generally. Take a look!
