Delia Derbyshire

Delia Derbyshire composed music using electronics and worked for the BBC, creating many important soundtracks and TV themes, including the music for Doctor Who.  Her work in electronic music showed how computers and other systems could be used as musical instruments.

Questions:

How does Derbyshire use computers to imitate musical instruments, or does she do something different?

Hard:

What happens if computer music doesn’t sound like anything we are familiar with?  Can it still be music?
