Claude Debussy

There are tunes in Debussy’s compositions, but you could also describe his music as being about the colour of sound.  In a way, what he worked on was how to make stories out of musical colours.

Is Debussy telling a musical story?  How does it work?

How does Debussy turn musical colour into pieces of music?

Does he do things in a way that is similar or different from Beethoven?

Really Hard:

Debussy was creating music at a time when the camera was being developed.  Some painters felt that because of photographs, they did not have to represent the way things looked anymore, and explored their imaginations.  Does this relate to Debussy?
