Kingfisher Class

The adults in Kingfisher Class are Saba, Ife and Asma.

Kingfisher Class have been learning about evolution with a particular focus on the adaptation of the peppered moth. Reading the book Moth by Isabel Thomas along with independent research, we found out the fascinating evolution story of this spectacular species and created our own explanation texts about them.

On our Time wow day, we came to school dressed as dinosaurs, explorers, animals or characters from our class book, 'The Wolf Brother'. We met a real life archaeologists and a digital film creator!

We've had lots of fun investigating different components of a circuit in science.

In our Freedom topic, we have been learning how to use our voices to stand up for equal rights by learning about many key figures in history with a particular focus on Martin Luther King, Malala Yousafzai, Emmeline Pankhurst, Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks. This helped us create our  green screen information videos. We had the fantastic opportunity to meet (virtually) the author of the book 'Journey to Jo'burg', Beverly Naidoo who told us about her life in apartheid South Africa and what inspired her to become an author.
