Kestrel 2021.22

The adults in Kestrel Class are Fay and Ben

In Kestrel Class, we started off the year with the topic of 'Freedom', where we explored the lives of freedom fighters around the world: Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr and Malala Yousafzai. We then created videos about their lives and recorded them using green screen.

We read Journey to Jo'burg and even had the fantastic opportunity to meet the author Beverly Naidoo. Alongside this, we wrote persuasive speeches as Naledi, the main character, and her hopes for an equal future for all.

Most recently, we have been exploring evolution and adaptation through our topic of 'Time', focusing on the adaptations of the peppered moth and created explanation texts detailing the unique adaptations of this wonderful species.
