Welcome to Jay Class!

This year we have been learning about our local area. We enjoyed a short visit to Stoneydown Park, where we looked out for local features. After our visit, it inspired us to write letters to the local council to share ideas of how the space could be improved!

In Maths, we have been exploring place value with 2-digit numbers. We have been focusing hard on our number bonds, as well as practicing different methods to add and subtract. We used dienes and counters to partition numbers when calculating number sentences and problems.

We've also enjoyed having lots of time to read! As a class we have read 'The Day the Crayons Quit', 'Yellow Man: A Walthamstory',  'Leon and the Place Between' and many other stories.
