At Stoneydown Park Primary School, we believe that education is about more than academic success. We want our children to grow into confident, compassionate and curious young people who have the character, knowledge and skills to thrive both in school and beyond.
Our Character & Enrichment Curriculum is built around our three school values:
Community – How do we live together?
We help children develop positive relationships and understand how their actions affect others. Through Respect, Kindness, Responsibility and Integrity, children learn to celebrate diversity, include others, make good choices and contribute positively to their school and wider community.
Creativity – How do we think and learn?
We encourage children to be curious, imaginative and open to new ideas. Curiosity is at the heart of our approach to learning. Children are encouraged to ask questions, explore, investigate, solve problems, make connections and think creatively across every area of the curriculum.
Challenge – How do we become our best?
We want children to embrace challenge and understand that mistakes and setbacks are part of learning. Through Resilience, Courage and Ambition, children learn to persevere, try new things, set goals and strive to become the best version of themselves.
A journey that grows with every child

Our Character Curriculum is a spiral curriculum, meaning that children revisit the same important ideas throughout their time at Stoneydown, developing their understanding and independence as they grow.
Children move from:
Recognising → Demonstrating → Understanding → Modelling and inspiring others
Our three themes are woven through assemblies, classroom learning, educational visits, play experiences and enrichment experiences, creating a consistent golden thread throughout school life.
Learning beyond the classroom
We believe that every child should have access to rich and memorable experiences that bring learning to life. Our Enrichment Entitlement includes visits, visitors, workshops, outdoor learning, performances, community projects and opportunities to meet people from a wide range of careers and backgrounds.
Across their time at Stoneydown, children experience London's museums, galleries, theatres, parks and places of worship, explore our local community and environment, take part in creative and STEM experiences, and develop leadership, independence and confidence.
By the end of Year 6, we want every child to have developed not only a strong foundation of knowledge, but also the character, curiosity, confidence and experiences they need to flourish.
